Memorial Day 2003 - Live Web Simulcast of Annual Memorial Day Observance 12PM ET

TVWorldwide.com, a web-based global TV network, in cooperation with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, the National Park Service, GSI Internet and Base Technologies will simulcast live via satellite and the Internet, the Annual Memorial Day Observance at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial beginning at 12 Noon ET on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2003 and will feature. Nancy Sinatra, who entertained the U.S. troops in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968, will perform at 12:15 PM ET.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, the non-profit organization established in 1979 to build the Vietnam Memorial, is grateful to GSI Internet, Base Technologies and TVWorldwide.com for their support this year in covering the Memorial Day Ceremony. “These companies enabled us to bring this year’s ceremony to American veterans and their families around the world,” said Jan C. Scruggs, Founder and President of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.

More than 10,000 Veterans and their families are expected to attend the Ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial this year. TV Worldwide’s simulcast will feature a keynote address from Retired Army Brig. Gen. David L. Grange, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation. Other featured speakers include: Bonnie Carroll, Deputy White House Liaison, Department of Veterans Affairs; and Gentry Davis, Deputy Regional Director, National Capital Region, National Park Service. Vietnam Veterans of America National President Thomas H. Corey will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Memorial Fund founder Jan Scruggs will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Over the past year, TV Worldwide.com in cooperation with the National Park Service, has simulcast the November 11 Vietnam Veterans Memorial 20th Anniversary Celebration the Washington, D.C. July 4 Fireworks Celebration and the VVMF’s April 21, 2003 “In Memory Day” Ceremony via satellite and the Internet for American civilian and military personnel stationed overseas. “We are preparing to formally launch our USVets.TV Internet TV channel (www.USVets.TV) next week using much of the content we’ve produced recognizing the contributions of American veterans and highlighting issues of importance to them,” commented Dave Gardy, Chairman and CEO of TVWorldwide.com. “We are pleased to work with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and our sponsors in producing content for this new Internet TV channel.”

Commentary and interviews will be offered prior to the event and interview with Mr. Shawkey will take place at the conclusion of the ceremony at 2PM.
