will also provide a live webcast coverage of the Second
Annual Teach Vietnam Teachers’ Network Remembrance
Ceremony on Friday, July 18, 2003 from 6-7 p.m. at The Wall
(21st Street and Constitution Avenue, NW). The ceremony
is one of the highlights of the four-day Teach Vietnam Teachers’
Conference being held from July 15-19 in Washington, D.C.
The Remembrance Ceremony will be webcast on www.TVWorldwide.com
and www.USVets.tv.
It also will be made available via satellite.
During
the Remembrance Ceremony, each teacher will honor someone
who made the ultimate sacrifice during the war and whose
name is now inscribed on The Wall. Many educators are honoring
someone from their hometowns while others are remembering
loved ones or others with whom they share a special connection.
Memorial Fund President Jan Scruggs will serve as the Master
of Ceremonies.
After
each person offers a short tribute to his or her honoree,
the group will process to The Wall where they will lay a
wreath and leave individual remembrances. These remembrances
will join the more than 65,000 items that have been left
at The Wall since its dedication and are archived as part
of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Collection.
